This wonderfully wild world...

May 17th, 2012 I returned to America. By the end of that month I was already saving my pennies to do it all over again. My time in India was the most transformative experience of my life and it continued to unfold for months after my return. I remember my culture shock, coming back to America, and remember how unsure I was of where I belonged. I left a piece of me in the holy land of India and knew that I must return to find it again, and to contiunue my growth. As I'm about to embark on my next big adventure across this wonderfully wild world, I reflect on the past years and what it took for me to get here again. The past couple years have been incredible as I grew in my private practice, taught Reiki classes, continued my education to become a doula, went to many amazing festivals and concerts, made memories with my friends (old and new), and I hiked...and hiked...and hiked...

It was only in April of 2013 that I went on my first backpacking trip with two of my best friends. From that very first trip on the coast of northern California, I summited South Sister and explored the Wallowas in east Oregon; I hiked the Redwood Forest and the red deserts of Utah. I was absolutely hooked! And now, it's crazy to think that my next trip is up the Lemosho Route on Kilimanjaro. I've  been dreaming and planning for the many adventures after that...Adam's Peak in Sri Lanka, where Buddha left his footprint, the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal, through India and the eastern Himalayas, up in the tribal hills of Thailand, and summiting volcanos on the islands of Indonesia.

Hiking trips, however, aren't the only spark in this trip. I'm thrilled to be furthering my passions in yoga, massaage therapy, Reiki, and natural birthing. I've been blessed with the opportunities to volunteer at some non-profit natural birthing centers along the way, where I'll be working with women throughout their pregnancy, labor, and post-partum. I get to shadow the midwives to learn their expertise as well as offer my own comforting methods to support these Mamas through their own profound transformations. The ashrams throughout Asia will allow me to continue to explore my yoga practice, and the farms (WWOOF) I'll be volunteering at will be filling my body and mind with the nutritious gifts from Mama Earth! Of course there will be massage courses throughout this trip as well, and I look forward to bringing all my new treats back for my wonderful clients that have been family to me over the years.

It's a sure thing that after a lot of hard work, penny saving, and research, this trip has come together exactly how it was supposed to. My spontaneous and lovely friend, Hannah, jumped on board too! Our personal journeys are different but we'll sometimes get to explore them together. There will be points in the trip that we will part ways, only to reconnect again in a few weeks. This is going to be a wild ride and THANK GOD I'll have a familiar face and someone to explore this world with me! This experience will certainly create a SISTERHOOD that we'll share forever.

So, finally, we're here...in Seattle and waiting for our next flight to Dubai. It's finally here and there's nothing left to do but allow Spirit to guide me through this wonderfully wild world...

Stay on board! I look forward to sharing this journey with you! Keep me in your prayers and manifestations and know that I'm sending love always
